A special cover from Norway, posted at Bear Island (Bjornoya in norwish), the southernmost Island of the norwegian Svalbard archipelago. The Island is located in the western part of the Barents Sea, approximately halfway between Spitsbergen (Svalbard) and the Noth Cape. It was declared a nature reserve in 2002 and is only inhabitied by the year-round staff of the Herwighamna weather station. In this cover they used a pictorial postmark with a penguin on it.
