SLOVAKIA

A beatiful cover from Slovakia, depicting a miniature sheet with a picture of a wall painting from Kroměříž Castle. The Kroměříž Castle (Czech: Zámek Kroměříž or Arcibiskupský zámek) is a castle in Kroměříž in the Czech Republic. It used to be the principal residence of the bishops and (from 1777) archbishops of Olomouc. UNESCO listed the gardens and castle as a World Heritage Site in 1998 because of its exceptionally well-preserved and outstanding Baroque gardens.

This cover from Portugal depicts a complete set issued in 2024, celebrating the Batalha Monastery, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. The Dominican Monastery of Batalha was built in the early 15th century to commemorate the Portuguese victory over the Castilians at the Battle of Aljubarrota in 1385. The monastery is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, with later additions in the Manueline style. For more than two centuries, it served as an important workshop for the Portuguese monarchy, as a site where the characteristic features of national art were determined.

The Sydney Opera House is an opera house and iconic building on the shores of Sydney Harbour, in Sydney, Australia. It is shaped like the sails of a boat. Many concerts and events take place there, with 2000 performances a year presented by Opera Australia, Australia's national opera company. It is a famous tourist attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007.

In this cover, the 12 kc stamp (on the left) celebrates the Litomysl Castle. Litomyšl Castle is one of the largest Renaissance castles in the Czech Republic. It is owned by the Czech state. It is located in the centre of the town of Litomyšl and was declared a UNESCO Site in 1999. Litomyšl Castle is an outstanding example of the arcade castle, a type of building first developed in Italy and modified in the Czech lands to create an evolved form of special architectural quality. High-Baroque features were added to this castle in the 18th century.

My first cover from Guyana, depicting a miniature sheet celebrating the 50th Anniversary of UNESCO. The minisheet shows a picture of the Mount Tai (Mount Taishan in chinese), a mountain of historical and cultural significance located north of the city of Tai'an. It is the highest point in Shandong province, China. The tallest peak is the Jade Emperor Peak, which is commonly reported as being 1,545 meters.Mount Tai is known as the eastern mountain of the Sacred Mountains of China. It is associated with sunrise, birth, and renewal, and is often regarded the foremost of the five. Mount Tai has been a place of worship for at least 3,000 years and served as one of the most important ceremonial centers of China during large portions of this period. Because of its sacred importance and dramatic landscape, it was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.

A special cover from Germany, celebrating the 1300th anniversary of the romanesque church in Reichenau. The Church of Saint George is a Roman Catholic Church. It is part of Reichenau Abbey founded in 724, located on the island of Reichenau on Lake Constance in southern Germany. The island is home to the churches of Saint Mary, Marcus, Peter and Paul. The Church was built in the late 9th century to house the relic head of Saint George, a gift from Pope Gregory II, which commemorated a visit to Rome by Abbot Hoito in 896. The church interior is decorated with wall paintings that depict stories and figures from scripture and was designed for those who dedicate their lives to prayer and worship. Reichenau island was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. According to UNESCO, the island, including the frescoes of the Church at St. George, are protected based on the following criteria: the remains bear witness to the role of Medieval Benedictine monasteries; they are a strong example of monastic architecture in Central Europe from the 9th to 11th centuries; and they held great artistic significance in Europe at the time.

This cover from USA depict a stamp celebrating the Everglades National Park. Everglades National Park is an American national park that protects the southern twenty percent of the original Everglades in Florida. The park is the largest tropical wilderness in the United States and the largest wilderness of any kind east of the Mississippi River. An average of one million people visit the park each year. Everglades is the third-largest national park in the contiguous United States after Death Valley and Yellowstone. UNESCO declared the Everglades & Dry Tortugas Biosphere Reserve in 1976 and listed the park as a World Heritage Site in 1979, and the Ramsar Convention included the park on its list of Wetlands of International Importance in 1987. Everglades is one of only three locations in the world to appear on all three lists.

The park straddles the ridgeline of the Great Smoky Mountains, part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which are a division of the larger Appalachian Mountain chain. The park contains some of the highest mountains in eastern North America, including Clingmans Dome, Mount Guyot, and Mount Le Conte. The border between the two states runs northeast to southwest through the center of the park. The Appalachian Trail passes through the center of the park on its route from Georgia to Maine. Te park was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, and an International Biosphere Reserve in 1988.

This cover from Turkey depicts 4 stamps of the same type celebrating the National Park of Göreme and Rock Sites of Cappadocia. Göreme Historical National Park is a national park in central Turkey. It occupies an area of nearly 100 km2 and is located in Nevşehir Province. It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985 under the name Goreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia. The park features a rocky, water- and wind-eroded landscape with a network of ancient, interconnecting underground settlements.

GIBRALTAR

This beautiful cover from Gibraltar depicts a complete set celebrating Leonardo da Vinci and it's paintings, including the 2,86 stamp on the right corner The Last Supper. The mural „The Last Supper“, created by Leonardo da Vinci as a secco painting, can still be found in the refectory of the Dominican Church of Santa Maria della Grazie in Milan. Often called „The Supper“, it is one of the most famous paintings in the world and was commissioned by Ludovico Sforza (patron of Leonardo and Duke of Milan 1494-1499/1500) in 1494-1497. Leonardo da Vinci – UNESCO World Heritage Site: The church, the Dominican monastery, and Leonardo da Vinci’s painting „The Last Supper“ were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1980.

SOUTH AFRICA

This cover came from South Africa and depicts a complete set issued in 2011 celebrating the World Heritage Site Cape Floral Region Protected Areas. The site is inscribed at UNESCO's since 2004 and comprises a series of national parks and protected areas that are home to the plants of one of the six floral kingdoms of the world. The area is remarkably rich in biodiversity: although it covers less than 0.5% of Africa, it is home to 20% of plan species of the continent. The fynbos vegetation of fine-leaved shrubland is adapted to a Mediterranean climate of the region and to occasional fires. Many plants rely on pollination and seed dispersal by insects, birds, and mammals. Several plant species are of conservation concern.

POLAND

This cover from Poland depicts 3 different stamps with tourist landmarks in Poland. The stamp on the right top shows a picture of the Old City of Zamosc, the oldest historic district of the city of Zamość. It is one of the World Heritage Sites in Poland (added in 1992). According to UNESCO, this landmark is an outstanding example of a Renaissance planned town of the late 16th century, which retains its original layout and fortifications and many buildings of particular interest, blending Italian and Central European architectural traditions.".

ISRAEL

This cover from Israel depicts a single stamp celebrating the World Heritage Site Caves of Maresha and Bet-Guvrin in the Judean Lowlands as a Microcosm of the Land of the Caves. Beit Guvrin-Maresha National Park is a national park in central Israel, containing a large network of caves recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 2014. The national park includes the remains of the historical towns of Maresha, one of the important towns of Judah during the First Temple Period, and Bayt Jibrin, a depopulated Palestinian town known as Eleutheropolis in the Roman era.

This cover from United Nations (Vienna Office) depicts 4 stamps of the same type, celebrating the Yellowstone National Park, an American national park located in the western United States, largely in the northwest corner of Wyoming and extending into Montana and Idaho. It was established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872. Yellowstone was the first national park in the U.S. and is also widely held to be the first national park in the world. The park is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially the Old Faithful geyser, one of its most popular. While it represents many types of biomes, the subalpine forest is the most abundant. It is part of the South Central Rockies forests ecoregion. Yellowstone National Park is inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1978.

This cover from Portugal depicts a miniature sheet celebrating the "Prehistoric Rock Art Sites in the Coa Valley", an open-air Paleolithic archaeological site located in northeastern Portugal, near the border with Spain. In the early 1990s rock engravings were discovered in Vila Nova de Foz Côa during the construction of a dam in the Côa River valley. They include thousands of engraved rock drawings of horses, bovines and other animals, human and abstract figures, dated from 22,000 to 10,000 years B.C. The Prehistoric Rock-Art Sites in the Côa Valley were designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1998. The archaelogical site of Siega Verde, province of Salamca, Spain, was also added to the Côa Valley Paleolithic Art site in the World Heritage List in 2010.

This beautiful cover from Spain depicts a miniature sheet issued in 2023 with a picture of the Serra de Tramuntana, in Mallorca Island. he Serra de Tramuntana is a mountain range running southwest–northeast which forms the northern backbone of the Spanish island of Mallorca. It is also the name given to the comarca of the same area. On 27 June 2011, the Tramuntana Range was awarded World Heritage Status by UNESCO as an area of great physical and cultural significance.

This cover came from Czech Republic features 4 stamps of the same type (issued in 2023), celebrating the sp town of Frantiskovy Lázne. The Town of Frantiskovy Lázne in Karlovy Varí region is one of the Spa Towns in Europe, listed as a World Heritage Site since 2021. The Great Spa Towns of Europe is a transnational World Heritage Site consisting of a selection of 11 spa towns across seven European countries. They were developed around natural mineral water springs. From the early 18th century to the 1930s, Western Europe experienced an increase in spa and bathing culture, leading to the construction of elaborate bath houses. These would often include gardens, casinos, theatres, and villas surrounding the springs and the bath house. The city of Bath was originally inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1987. The efforts to get the Great Spas of Europe onto the World Heritage List began in 2012, and the nomination was submitted in 2019. On 24 July 2021, the Great Spas of Europe were officially inscribed on the World Heritage List.
