SOUTH AFRICA
This cover from South Africa depicts a set of 4 stamps celebrating the Maloti-Drakensberg Park, a World Heritage Site, established on 11 June 2001 by linking the Sehlabathebe National Park in the Kingdom of Lesotho and the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park in KwaZulu-Natal. The highest peak is Thaba Ntlenyana rising to 3,482 metres. Proposed extensions to the main park include the Golden Gate Highlands National Park, Sterkfontein Dam Nature Reserve (Free State) and Royal Natal National Park (KwaZulu-Natal) in South Africa; and the Bokong Nature Reserve and Ts'ehlanyane National Park in Lesotho. The park is situated in the Drakensberg Mountains which form the highest areas in the sub-region, and support unique montane and sub-alpine ecosystems. These ecosystems hold a globally significant plant and animal biodiversity, with unique habitats and high levels of endemism. The park is also home to the greatest gallery of rock art in the world with hundreds of sites and many thousands of images painted by the Bushmen (San people). The Maloti-Drakensberg Transfrontier Conservation and Development Area was conceived as a Peace park, covering about 8 113 km2, consisting of 5 170 km2 (64%) in Lesotho and 2 943 km2 (36%) in KwaZulu-Natal.

SOUTH AFRICA
his cover came from South Africa and depicts a complete set issued in 2011 celebrating the World Heritage Site Cape Floral Region Protected Areas. The site is inscribed at UNESCO's since 2004 and comprises a series of national parks and protected areas that are home to the plants of one of the six floral kingdoms of the world. The area is remarkably rich in biodiversity: although it covers less than 0.5% of Africa, it is home to 20% of plan species of the continent. The fynbos vegetation of fine-leaved shrubland is adapted to a Mediterranean climate of the region and to occasional fires. Many plants rely on pollination and seed dispersal by insects, birds, and mammals. Several plant species are of conservation concern.

SOUTH AFRICA
This cover from South Africa depict a complete set issued in 2012 celebrating the UNESCO World Heritage Site Vredefort Dome. The Vredefort crater is the largest verified impact crater on Earth. It was 160–300 km across when it was formed; what remains of it is in the present-day Free State province of South Africa. It is named after the town of Vredefort, which is near its centre. Although the crater itself has long since been eroded away, the remaining geological structures at its centre are known as the Vredefort Dome or Vredefort impact structure. The crater is calculated to be 2.023 billion years old, with impact being in the Paleoproterozoic Era. It is the second-oldest known crater on Earth, after Yarrabubba crater. In 2005, the Vredefort Dome was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites for its geologic interest.

SOUTH AFRICA
This cover from South Africa was posted in Mossel Bay and has a special cancellation made at Post Office Tree, a post office with a great and amazing history that you can see at:
http://www.diasmuseum.co.za/index.php/attractions/post-office-tree
Unfortunately, all stamps have also a strong and ugly cancellation, but the cover is very interesting anyway.
