UN VIENNA

A very nice UNESCO cover from United Nations (Vienna Office), with a complete set issued in 2017 on tpoic "Along the silk roads". The stamps celebrates the city of Safranbolu in Turkey and the historic bazaar of Tabriz, in Iran.
From the 13th century to the advent of the railway in the early 20th century, the city of Safranbolu was an important caravan station on the main Easty-West silk trade route. Safranbolu is inscribed as a Unesco World Hertiage place since 1994.
The city of Tabriz has been a place of cultural Exchange since antiquity and its historic bazaar complex is one of the most important commercial centres on the Silk Road. The historic Tabriz bazaar complex is inscribed as a Unesco World Hertiage place since 2010.
