THAILAND
A spectacular cover from Thailand, depicting 10 different stamps: 5 stamps of same type issued in 1996 celebrating the 50th. anniversary of UNESCO and an amazing set issued in 2017 on topic "Chao Phraya River". This river supplies a major metropolitan region, covering 160.000 km2, representing 30% of the country's total area, including the capital city of Bangkok.

POLAND
A nice cover from Poland, depicting 2 nice stamps on topic "Capital cities of the European Union". The two capitals are Athens (Greece) and Prague (Czech Republic).
Both cities are at UNESCO as World Heritage places.
The Acropolis in Athens and its monuments are universal symbols of the classical spirit and civilization and form the greatest architectural and artistic complex bequeathed by Greek Antiquity to the world. In the second half of the fifht century b.C., Athens took a leading position amongst the other city-states of the ancient world. The most important monuments were built during that time.
The historic centre of Prague was built between the 11th and 18th centuries but the most magnificente monuments, such as Hradcani Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, Charles Bridge nad numerous churches and palaces were built mostly in the 14th century, under the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles IV.

Another beautiful UNESCO cover from Oman, depicting a miniature sheet issued in 2015 celebrating the World Water Day and showing The Falaj Al-Khatmeen.
The Afflaj (plural of Falaj) or irrigation systems of Oman, are inscribed on Unesco World Heritage sites since 2006.
The property includes five afflaj irrigation systems (as the one represented in this miniature sheet) and is representative of some 3.000 such systems still in use in Oman. The origins of this system of irrigation may date back to 500 a.d., but archaeological evidence suggests that irrigation systems existed in this extremely arid area as early as 2500 b.d. Using gravity, water is channeled from underground sources or springs to support agriculture and domestic use. The afflaj represente an exceptionally well-preserved form of land use.

TAIWAN
