SOLOMON ISLANDS

My first cover cover from Solomon Islands, depicting a complete WWF set issued in 2005 with the Solomon Islands skink (Corucia zebrata), also known as pre-hensile-tailed skink, monkey-tailed skink and giant skink. This is an arboreal species of skink endemic to the Solomon Islands archipelago. It is the largest known extant species of skink.

Extensive logging is a serious threat to the survival of this species. Consumption for food by indigenous Solomon islanders and excessive pet trade exports have affected wild populations. Export of this species from the Solomon islands is now restricted.

 

 

 

SLOVAKIA

A beautiful cover from Slovakia, depicting a miniature sheet issued in 2010 on topic Muranska planina national park.
In the headquarters of this slovak National Park we can find about 1400 species os vascular plants and an interesting population of creodonts depicted in the miniature sheet: the grey wolf (Canis lupus) and the Brown bear (Ursus arctos).

This religion represents a spiritual Foundation of the unity of the nation. It binds the community and makes the power of the people of Vietnam always overcome difficulties and challenges in the process of construction and development of the country.

POLAND

A nice UNESCO cover from Poland, depicting a single stamp with Park Muzarowski (in polish) or Muskau Park (in german). This is a landscape park in the Upper Lusatia region of Germany and Poland. It is the largest and one of the most famous english gardens in Central Europe and it was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in July 2004.
