GERMANY
A nice UNESCO cover from Germany with 2 stamps celebrating the "Bauhaus" buildings and its sites in Weimar, Dessau and Bernau. Founded in 1919 in Weimar, the Bauhaus was the most influential art school of the 20th century. The buildings designed by the masters of the Bauhaus are fundamental representatives of Classical Modernism. The joint heritage site includes the Bauhaus school buildings in Weimar and the Haus am Horn, Weimar; the Bauhaus Dessau building, the Meisterhäuser (where senior staff lived)and the Laubenganghäuser ('Houses with Balcony Access'); and the ADGB Trade Union School in Bernau bei Berlin. All this complex is inscribed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.

GERMANY
A nice UNESCO cover from Germany, depicting a se-tenant set of 2 issued in 2014, celebrating the "Town Hall and Roland on the Marketplace of Bremen". The site consists of the city hall and the statue of Roland that stands near it. The city hall was built in the 15th century when Bremen joined the Hanseatic League. It was renovated in the 17th century, and a new city hall was built nearby in the early 20th. Under the Holy Roman Empire, Bremen had extensive autonomy that allowed the town to grow and made the city hall a center of power. Both the old and new city halls survived bombings during World War II. The statue of Roland was built in 1404. It stands 5.5 m (18 ft) high.
BELARUS
The Mir Castle Complex is recognized by UNESCO for its cultural significance since 2000, as an excepcional exemple of a central European castle, reflecting in its design and layout successive cultural influences (Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance) that blend harmoniously to create an impressive monumento to the history of this region

CZECH REPUBLIC
In this cover, the 12 kc stamp (on the right corner) celebrates the Litomysl Castle.
Litomyšl Castle is one of the largest Renaissance castles in the Czech Republic. It is owned by the Czech state. It is located in the centre of the town of Litomyšl and was declared a UNESCO Site in 1999. Litomyšl Castle is an outstanding example of the arcade castle, a type of building first developed in Italy and modified in the Czech lands to create an evolved form of special architectural quality. High-Baroque features were added to this castle in the 18th century.

SPAIN
A nice UNESCO cover from Spain with a single stamp issued in 2021 celebrating the Colosseum of Rome (Italy). Rome, center of the Roman Empire and later, from the 4th century, of the Christian world is home to a large number of major monuments of antiquity, including of course the Colosseum.
The Colosseum is an oval amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, just east of the Roman Forum and is the largest ancient amphitheatre ever built, and is still the largest standing amphitheater in the world today, despite its age. Construction began under the emperor Vespasian (r. 69–79 AD) in 72 and was completed in AD 80 under his successor and heir, Titus (r. 79–81).
ICELAND
A nice UNESCO cover from Iceland with one single stamp issued in 2013, celebrating the volcanic island of Surtsey, inscribed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008.
Surtsey ("Surtr's island" in Icelandic) is a volcanic island located in the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago off the southern coast of Iceland. Surtsey is the southernmost point of Iceland. It was formed in a volcanic eruption which began 130 metres (430 feet) below sea level, and reached the surface on 14 November 1963. The eruption lasted until 5 June 1967, when the island reached its maximum size of 2.7 km2 (1.0 sq mi).
