FRANCE

From the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower, from the Place de la Concorde to the Grand and Petit Palais, the evolution of Paris and its history can be seen from the River Seine. The Cathedral of Notre-Dame and the Sainte Chapelle are architectural masterpieces while Haussmann's wide squares and boulevards influenced late 19th- and 20th-century town planning the world over. All this complex is inscribed at Unesco World Heritage sites since 1991.

FRENCH SOUTHERN AND ANTARCTIC LANDS (T.A.A.F.) - Tromelin Island (Îles Éparses)

A nice cover cancelled at Tromelin Island (French Southern and Antacrtic Lands), a low flat island in the Indian Ocean, about 500 kilometres north of Réunion and about 450 kilometres east of Madagascar.

Tromelin has facilities for scientific expeditions and a weathre station. It is a nesting site for birds and green turtles.
