Its masterpieces include the ancient Hippodrome of Constantine, the 6th. century Hagia Sophia and the 16th. century Süleymaniye Mosque.

The Siege of Szigetvár or Battle of Szigeth was a siege of the fortress of Szigetvár, Hungary, that blocked Suleiman's line of advance towards Vienna in 1566. The battle was fought between the defending forces of the Habsburg Monarchy and the invading Ottoman army under the nominal command of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent.

A beautiful cover from Pakistan, depicting a complete set issued in 2014 on topic "Ancient cultures - joint issue with Ukraine". This set is dedicated to the "Cucuteni-Trypillian culture" (covering substantial parts of western Ukraine and northeastern Romania) and Mohenjo-daro in Pakistan.
Mohenjo-daro is an archeological site in the province of Sindh, Pakistan. Built around 2600 BCE, it was one of the largest settlements of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. The site was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980.
