ROMANIA
A nice cover from Romania, depicting a complete set from year 2013 on topic "Joint issue with Ukraine - UNESCO monasteries".
The left stamp celebrates the "Sucevita Monastery", situaded in the Northeastern part of Romania. It was built in 1585 and the architecture of the church contains both Byzantine and Gothic elements and some elements typical to other painted churches of northern Moldavia.In 2010, the monastery has been inscribed by UNESCO on its list of World Heritage Sites. It's part of the World Unesco Site "Churches of Moldavia", along with other seven churches. The right stamp celebrates the "Church of the Saviour at Berestove" in Ukraine. It was originally built in the 11-12th. centuries but renovated and rebuilt along the centuries. The monument is partt of the UNESCO World Heritage site called "Kyiv - Saint Sophia Cathedsral and related monastic buildings", inscribed as a World Heritage sites since 1990.
